School Calendar

A school holiday calendar is published each spring for the following school year.    The school year traditionally begins in the middle of August.  The calendar may be viewed on our website.

Age Requirements

Students entering kindergarten must be five years of age on or before September 30 and those entering our pre-k four program must turn four years of age on or before September 30.  Students must be three years old before entering our pre-k three program.  All preschoolers must be toilet trained.

Academic Records

The application process for students entering first grade and above includes our receipt of academic records from previous schools. Copies of report cards and standardized test results must be faxed or mailed to us by the previous school.

Interview/Testing

All applicants must participate in an interview session administered by St. John personnel.  Students entering grade one or higher will also be tested for acceptance.

St. John Handbook

A handbook is distributed to all school families on an annual basis at the Parent Orientation held in August.  Each family is expected to acknowledge receipt of the handbook and to support the expectations and guidelines set forth in the handbook.  A copy of this handbook may be found on our website.

School Dress Guidelines

St. John has a mandatory school uniform and dress code.  Uniforms may be purchased at School Time / Schiro's Uniforms.

Immunizations

The State of Louisiana requires that all students must be properly immunized prior to the start of the school year.  Schools are required to suspend any student who is not in full compliance with the State standards by the end of the first month of school.
